Asian American Orchestra Performs GO FOR BROKE! for Veterans Day

The AAO performed “GO FOR BROKE! - A Salute of Nisei Veterans” on Veterans Day to an audience including family and friends of nisei veterans at WE ARE ALL AMERICANS! TRIBUTE TO NISEI VETERANS presented by the National Japanese American Historical Society (NJAHS) held at the Presidio Military Intelligence Service (MIS) building at 640 Mason Street in San Francisco's Presidio. This event was emceed by NBC Bay Area's Mike Inouye, and was highlighted by a speech by 442nd RCT veteran Lawson Sakai.

The AAO was proud to feature the spoken word of Janice Mirikitani as part of the five movement GO FOR BROKE!.

 

 

This day also marked the opening of NJAHS new exhibition, “Artists Eyes, Art of Incarceration” at the Presidio Military Intelligence Service (MIS) Building 640 commemorating the 75th anniversary of EO9066. We encourage everyone to visit this spectacular exhibition.
